NorthStar Orthopaedics do not look to compete with the large multinational organisations with primary knee arthroplasty products. This mature market is very well served, and consequently we look to offer unique solutions for specific indications. As such, surgeons can use any of NorthStar’s knee products without needing to change from their primary arthroplasty implant of choice.

The HemiCAP Femoral Condyle and Patello Femoral resurfacing implants from Arthrosurface are great examples of products that fit this strategy perfectly. Completely unique, the Femoral Condyle HemiCAP provides surgeons with a bridge between conservative biologic treatment of cartilage defects and unicondylar knee replacements, while the Patello Femoral implant allows anatomic resurfacing of the patella and trochlear groove.

Both the Femoral Condyle and Patello Femoral implants make use of the patented Arthrosurface intra-operative mapping technique, and the wide variety of curvatures allows for an unparalleled anatomic fit. Both devices are bone sparing, meaning that a straight forward revision can be carried out to one to the more traditional joint replacements. This makes the HemiCAP knee range highly appropriate for patients that are considered too young to receive a knee prosthesis and too old for effective biologic solutions.
